TJ spread some festive cheer

After what can only be described as an incredibly challenging year, TJ wanted to say a big thank you to their staff by giving each employee a luxury food hamper to celebrate the festive season.

As well as rewarding staff for their loyalty and hard work, TJ also wanted to give a little something back to the community, so they donated a number of these hampers to homeless shelters in Portsmouth to provide a ray of sunshine at the end of a tough year.

The hampers, which contain luxury items such as coffee, mince pies, fudge, gourmet popcorn and chocolates were given to homeless shelters in the hope that some of those facing hardship will be able to enjoy a tasty Christmas treat. The hampers were delivered earlier this week in time for the big day.

This is the second year that TJ has donated to homeless shelters. Last year hampers were given to Two Saints, which is part of Portsmouth Homeless Services. They said: “Thank you for the large donation you kindly delivered to our homeless service, we are overwhelmed with your generosity and kind thoughts. Our residents and night bed users will be extremely grateful for this donation and will certainly put everything to use! Thank you for supporting Two Saints and the work we do.”

General Manager Luke Haskell said:

“2020 has been a year like no other, yet our staff have pulled together and worked hard despite the many challenges the pandemic has presented. We remained operational throughout the year, delivering essential services to the construction, infrastructure and waste disposal industries.

“The entire staff body supported this work so we wanted to thank them all individually. Donating some hampers to the homeless shelters allowed us to spread a little festive cheer to those who will have had an even tougher year than usual.”
