TJ takes delivery of new skip lorries

TJ Waste has recently taken delivery of three brand new skip lorries. These new vehicles have replaced our three oldest lorries, bringing our fleet bang up to date.

The lorries, which are Volvo FE cabs, are made specifically to strike a balance between accessing tighter urban areas like the FL can, whilst emulating the performance of its larger FM model.

The fitted HYVA equipment is great for lifting, moving and transporting skips of all sizes from one location to another. Their modern design makes skip deliveries and collections quick and easy for the driver, and convenient for the customer.

We’re committed to a continuous renewal scheme, which means that our fleet is modern, with no vehicle planned to be more than five years old, ensuring safety and reliability. Even with the challenges of the chassis shortage, we are endeavouring to keep to this.

Road safety is one of our top priorities. All of our skip lorries have a range of safety features installed to make them safer for both the drivers and those around them, as well as easier to manoeuver and operate. These features include a 5-point CCTV system, front and rear strobes, audible left turn warning and side scanner sensors.

Our drivers conduct daily safety checks first thing in the morning, with any issues being reported immediately. We also have a tyre safety package with Michelin, which provides additional peace of mind.

In addition to skip lorries, our fleet also includes roll on roll off lorries, grab lorries, vans and sweepers, all of which are under our maintenance and renewal scheme.

Our drivers receive regular training to ensure their skills are always up to date. We hold an annual training event during which drivers receive training to update their skills and learn any new ones required.

We have an in-house CPC trainer, enabling all CPC training to  be done on-site rather than elsewhere. There are also different training requirements that need to be met to satisfy different customers and we always ensure these are fulfilled.
