TJ to sponsor Yapton Summer Fair

TJ Waste is sponsoring the Yapton Summer Fair and Flower Show, which will take place on Saturday 13 August on King George V Playing Fields in Yapton.

Our sponsorship enables the promotion of the event locally through flyers and banners, as well as providing a skip to capture all the waste generated on the day. We will deliver the skip to the site the day before so that it’s in place ahead of time.

The event, which will take place from 1pm – 5pm, is organised by Yapton & District Cottage Gardeners Society and combines the idea of a traditional summer fair with a flower and produce show.

The Fair will boast attractions such as live music, classic cars, charity dog show, displays, exhibitions, local stalls and plenty of food outlets including hot food, ice creams and cream teas.

The flower show gives green-fingered locals the chance to show off the flowers, plants and produce they’ve grown, with a range of prizes awarded on the day.

We’ll remove the skip from the site the day after the event and transport it back to our Yapton Materials Recovery Facility for sorting and segregating.

We recycle up to 100% of the waste we handle and we’re dedicated to diverting waste from landfill. We have established recycling routes for a wide range of materials from the standard card, paper, metal and plastic bottles, to the more tricky materials such as rubble and hard plastics.

We’re always working behind the scenes to find new ways to recycle the materials that have proved difficult in the past. Any materials that cannot be reused or recycled are directed down the Energy from Waste (EfW) path wherever possible.

We process all materials in line with WRAP (Waste and Resources Action Programme) protocol. WRAP’s mission is to accelerate the move to a sustainable, resource-efficient economy by re-inventing how we design, produce and sell products, re-thinking how we use and consume products, and re-defining what is possible through reuse and recycling.
