TJ Waste shortlisted for two Solent Business Awards

TJ Waste & Recycling has been shortlisted as finalists in two categories of the Solent Business Awards 2018 – SME of the Year and Best Use of Technology. The awards evening will take place on Thursday 18 October at the Hilton at the Ageas Bowl.

TJ beat off the competition to be selected as finalists. The Solent Business Awards is the leading multi-category awards event for the south coast and the ideal platform to showcase outstanding businesses in the Solent region.

TJ Waste materials recovery facilities in Southampton, Portsmouth and West Sussex

Amongst their most notable achievements in the last few years have been the purchase and development of their two materials recovery facilities in Portsmouth and Southampton. These facilities have been instrumental in aiding the recycling process and have enabled them to divert 90,000 tonnes of waste from landfill in the last 12 months alone, resulting in huge environmental benefits.

TJ has also been quick to capitalise on the benefits of modern technology. The system they deployed has delivered operational, commercial and environmental benefits including a reduction in wasted journeys, fleet mileage, fuel and emissions.

This has differentiated TJ in terms of service delivery and customer experience, and feedback from employees and customers has been extremely positive. The company was recently awarded a ‘Gold Trusted Service’ provider by Feefo, achieving at least 4.5/5 stars in reviews for the third year in a row.

TJ is committed to the Solent community. They are a strong supporter of the Rose Road Association, a charity that provides services to young disabled people from birth to 25. TJ has provided them with both sponsorship and logistical support to run their annual ball, which raised over £10,000.

The awards are being hosted by BBC South Today’s Sally Taylor, with guest speaker Alastair Stewart.

Managing Director John Gosling said: “I am thrilled that we have been shortlisted for not one, but two of these prestigious awards. It’s our employees’ hard work that has led us to this point and I am so proud of what we have achieved so far. I’m excited about what the future holds for our company and what we can give back to our customers and the community.”
