TJ wins Hampshire-wide waste contract

TJ has won a contract to remove all the rubble and soil from 20 Household Waste Recycling Centres (HWRCs) across Hampshire.

TJ will be doing ad hoc collections of heavy waste such as mixed construction and demolition waste (rubble, soil, concrete, ceramics and bricks) between Monday and Saturday as and when needed.

The contract is for two years with the option for a two-year extension. It has been forecast that up to 10,000 tonnes of rubble and soil will be collected by TJ each year.

The HWRCs are located all over Hampshire from Andover in the north, over to Ringwood in the west, down to Gosport in the south and Fareham in the east.

The waste will be taken to TJ’s network of recycling facilities, to transform as much of this waste back into products used for the construction industry, such as 6F5 Crushed Concrete and Type 1 Crushed Concrete.

Household waste throughout Hampshire gets taken to the HWRCs for recycling, landfill and incineration. TJ processes all materials in line with WRAP (Waste and Resources Action Plan) protocol which encourages waste producers to reduce, reuse, recycle wherever possible.
