Tell us a bit about yourself
I’m a massive fan of UFC/MMA and would love to go and watch an event someday. I also enjoy playing darts as a bit of fun now and then with my friends and would love to go to Lakeside. I’m a family man – I have two children; a nine-year-old and a six-month-old who keep me on toes at home! I love spending time with the kids doing whatever they want to do (within reason!) and just hope I’m still standing at the end of it!
What does your role involve?
I’m a Sales Advisor, so I’ll be dealing with enquiries, making sure that the customer has all the information they need about the products and services they’re interested in and providing quotes. I’ll also be dealing with local merchants to provide them with the services they need to run their businesses. I’m pleased to be here and excited to go wherever the role takes me.
What’s your career background?
I’ve been working in sales for various builders’ merchants in the Hampshire area for most of my career. This fits in perfectly with my new role here at TJ because I have many contacts that I can liaise with and provide our aggregate, haulage and muck away services to.
I knew this role would be a great opportunity to use my skills and build on my strong working relationships within the industry. I’m looking forward to learning more about the company and really getting to know our existing customers as well as bringing in some new ones.
Why did you want to work for TJ?
I wanted to take the next step on the career ladder and felt that TJ would be a good place to take that step. I knew of them through my prior job and had good experiences of working with them. TJ is a great company – their business is growing and I want to grow with them.
How was your first week?
It’s been really good! The team is great and everyone has been very friendly. I was taken out and given a tour of TJ’s various sites including the recycling centre in Southampton and Butser Quarry. It was all very interesting to see and it’s helped me to understand more about the business and how it all works. At the quarry it was great to see it all first hand, and actually see where the aggregates that I’m selling are coming from.
Why should people use TJ’s services?
Even before I worked here, I knew how good TJ’s customer service is. As a customer, the response you’ll get will be nothing but positive; the staff are so helpful and easy to deal with, quotes are provided quickly and there’s a quick turnaround on everything. TJ also keeps in touch with the customer every step of the way, so they’re always well-informed.
