TJ awarded waste management contract for Victorious

TJ Waste has won the waste management contract for the upcoming Victorious Festival for the fourth consecutive year. Being awarded the contract for yet another year is a testament to the high level of customer service TJ provides.

Victorious 2019 is being held on Southsea Seafront from 23-25 August. The festival houses four stage arenas, each housing live music throughout the day and evening. There is also a kids’ arena, a world music village, a beats and swing tent, a comedy tent and even a circus!

TJ will be supplying around 300 wheelie bins for use across the entire festival site. TJ will deliver the bins in the week leading up to the start of the festival to ensure all the bins are in place ready for kick-off on Friday. At 4am on Saturday and Sunday a team from TJ will go onsite to empty all the bins in preparation for the day’s festivities. A team will be onsite on each of the three days to continually empty the bins to ensure cleanliness and efficiency.

TJ are providing two bin lorries to empty the wheelie bins and they will also be using their own vans to transport the recycling which is segregated on site. All the waste will be taken back to TJ’s Portsmouth-based materials recovery facilities and sorted to ensure that all recyclables are extracted and recycled.

Although TJ have carried out Victorious’ waste management for the past three years, they still had to tender for the work. TJ’s well-organised and financially competitive offering, along with their proven high level of customer service was what won them the contract.

TJ’s Waste Manager Peter Shardlow said: “The event is growing year on year and we’re very pleased to be involved again. We have a great relationship with the organisers and they have a lot of trust in us. They understand what we stand for and they know that by employing us, it means they don’t have to worry about the waste – it’ll be dealt with. Customer service is of utmost importance to us and we will do all we can to ensure the job is done on time and to an exceptional standard.”

This year’s Victorious line-up includes Two Door Cinema Club, The Specials and Doves on Friday; Rudimental, Bloc Party, Ocean Colour Scene and Lewis Capaldi on Saturday; and New Order, Clean Bandit, Plan B and Basement Jaxx on Sunday.
