TJ sponsors Yapton Summer Fair

TJ Waste provided sponsorship for Yapton Summer Fair, which took place on Saturday 12 August on King George V Playing Fields in Yapton.

Our sponsorship enabled the promotion of the event locally through flyers and banners, which is a great way of raising awareness of the event amongst locals and increasing attendance.

The event, which took place from 1pm – 5pm, is organised by Yapton & District Cottage Gardeners Society and combines the idea of a traditional summer fair with a flower and produce show.

The Fair comprised attractions such as the flower and produce show, classic cars, charity dog show, children’s activities, local stalls and plenty of food outlets including hot food, ice creams and cream teas.

The flower show provides the ideal opportunity for green-fingered locals to show off the flowers, plants and produce they’ve grown, with a range of prizes awarded on the day.

Alice Duckworth, Organiser of Yapton Summer Fair said: “We were so pleased that we are able to present such an array of exciting activities, stalls and entertainment for the community. We extend our thanks to TJ Waste for their continued sponsorship to help us promote the event and reach as many people in the community as possible.”

This is the fourth year that we’ve sponsored the Fair, which is one of a number of community events that we’ve sponsored in recent years. Other events include the Portsmouth Marathon, for which we’re the headline sponsor, the Wickham Charity Beer Festival, Denmead Beer Festival as well as a number of local sports clubs.

Sometimes our sponsorship packages include waste management services as well, whereby we’ll provide a skip or some eurobins to help manage waste throughout the event. All waste is taken back to one of our four Materials Recovery Facilities for segregation and onward recycling, and we process all waste in line with WRAP protocol.
