Havant, UK is home to the HQ for the Kenwood brand, part of the DeLonghi Group. Primarily an office environment, the HQ is responsible for designing and controlling new product introduction, international stock replenishment from Asian factories and the management of sales for all DeLonghi Group brands (DeLonghi, Braun, Ariete) in the UK.
Kenwood needed a company that could provide them with a waste management plan to meet their needs and execute it with the minimum of fuss, ensuring all aspects of their waste management was taken care of and in the requested timescales.
Kenwood are an ISO14001 certified company, regularly audited by BSI who pay particular attention to proper management of waste. In the past, Kenwood has struggled to get waste contractors to provide the correct transfer notes and collections during normal working hours, so they needed to find a waste contractor that would operate according to strict standards.
TJ Waste & Recycling understood Kenwood’s need and desire to manage waste in the correct way. They conducted a site audit and came up with best practices for the waste streams and put a plan together which could be easily managed internally.
Kenwood has three main waste streams, which TJ coordinate as part of the bespoke waste management plan they created:
- waste electrical equipment
general waste – from the offices and canteen
dry mixed recycling – bottles, paper, cardboard, some plastics
TJ agreed to ad hoc collections as and when needed, which is usually weekly.
TJ Waste & Recycling took over the waste collection in a controlled and professional way, with no disruption to collections. TJ delivered what they promised and more, as they provided additional initial input to make the all-round process simpler.
