TJ to sponsor the South Downs Show

TJ Waste is sponsoring the South Downs Show, which is taking place on 13 & 14 August at Queen Elizabeth Country Park.

The sponsorship agreement will see TJ providing three 8-yard skips and one eurobin, and we will also be providing several more eurobins for the event in addition to this.

The event, which is organised by Hometown Events, is returning for 2022 after a two-year absence due to the pandemic and has been eagerly anticipated. It’s a great family day out with tickets still available to buy.

The South Downs Show has been running for decades and offers a range of entertainment and events including arena acts such as falconry and dog agility, entertaining attractions such as juggling, archery and an acting workshop, an animal petting zoo, children’s rides and fun zone, country life stalls, live music, a beer tent and a range of catering options.

The skips and bins will be delivered to the Park a day or two before the event to ensure the bins can be positioned in the best places to capture as much waste as possible. Our skip lorry driver will liaise with the site staff to position the skips in locations of their choosing.

The eurobins will be dotted around the site and the skips will be used to capture any additional waste generated. The skips and bins will be collected the day after the event to get the waste off site promptly. The skips, bins and waste will be taken to our Tipner Materials Recovery Facility for sorting and segregating, ready for onward recycling.

We recycle up to 100% of the waste we handle and we’re dedicated to diverting waste from landfill. We have established recycling routes for a wide range of materials from the standard card, paper, metal and plastic bottles, to the more tricky materials such as rubble and hard plastics. Any materials that cannot be reused or recycled are directed down the Energy from Waste (EfW) path wherever possible.

We process all materials in line with WRAP (Waste and Resources Action Programme) protocol. WRAP’s mission is to accelerate the move to a sustainable, resource-efficient economy by re-inventing how we design, produce and sell products, re-thinking how we use and consume products, and re-defining what is possible through reuse and recycling.

At TJ, we specialise in event waste management and are happy to simply provide what you need or offer advice on the best way to manage your waste depending on the type and size of event you’re hosting. Get in touch if you’d like to talk through your options.
