Littlehampton Welding are committed to caring for the environment at both a local and global level, employing the most environmentally-efficient techniques and materials, whilst placing the health and safety of their employees and others, at the forefront of what they do.

The requirement

Littlehampton Welding needed a waste removal company to provide them with a skip for general waste and ad-hoc waste collections for other types of waste, such as WEEE (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment). Their main motivation for this service was that they wanted to keep their waste out of the way, in a skip that could be easily emptied when it was full with minimum fuss; ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and their own Environmental Management System requirements.

The solution

TJ supply a 12-yard skip to hold Littlehampton Welding’s general waste and empty it regularly as and when required. They are also carrying out ad-hoc waste collections and have recently arranged a WEEE collection on a day and time to suit the client.

TJ removes the full skip when asked to and replacing it with an empty one. The full skip is then taken back to one of TJ’s material recovery facilities for sorting to ensure that as much waste as possible is recycled, which helps the client achieve their environmental objectives.

The challenge

Littlehampton Welding were using another company for their general waste when they were suddenly unable to fulfil the service going forward. TJ quickly stepped in and took over the service without any fuss. They’ve been supplying the skips for around six months and it has been going well.

The outcome

Littlehampton Welding are very happy with the service being provided by TJ. They were looking to work with a company that has high standards in relation to how they operate within the areas of health safety and environmental performance and good value for money and TJ fit the bill.

Health, Safety and Environmental Advisor, Daryl Peters went on a site visit to one of TJ’s materials recovery facilities and it was a very positive experience. He has established a good working relationship with TJ and is always kept in the loop via email, which leaves him feeling reassured of the high quality service TJ is providing.

A few words about TJ

Daryl said:

“Our experience of TJ has been very positive. They’re very flexible, always happy to help in any way they can. We’re always looking at ways to improve how our waste streams are collected and processed and TJ had some suggestions that were helpful. They have also given us a quick turnaround on our request for a WEEE collection; in the past with other companies it has been a challenge, but TJ got back to us quickly to arrange a mutually convenient time for the collection. We are looking to develop the relationship further with TJ in the future.”
